Dear Friends, Members of the Monarchical Chapter, and Knights, Dames and Nobles of the Royal Order of Constantine the Great and Saint Helen.

It is my pleasure and distinct honor to inform you, that His Royal Highness Prince Rafael, Sovereign of the Royal House of Cappadocia or short Principality of Cappadocia, has received the recommendations of the Nominations Committee which reviewed and recommended the very best Nominees based on their exceptional "Achievements" in one or more of the eight (8) Recognition Categories and their "Philanthropic" efforts. 

Prince Rafael, our Prince Grand Master has made his decision, which is final, subject to the required Passage Fee Donations.

H.R.H. Prince Rafael's personal "INVITATION TO THE ROYAL RECOGNITION & CHARITY GALA" will be received on or before March 31, 2023 by the POSTULANTS that have being knighted a Knight "Sir" or "Dame / Lady" on June 11, 2023, under the auspices of the Grand Priory of Illinois. The Ceremonies will be officiated by our Prince Grand Master H.R.H. Prince Rafael arriving from Spain, H.G. the Duchess Dr. Nancy and Duke  Gerhart, Secretary of State and Prime Minister,  H.G. Duchess Consort Linda and Duke Michael, from Florida, H.E. Sir Sidney Leluan III, Grand Prefect General of the Royal Order, and Grand Prior General for Central and South America, as well as  other leaders of the Royal House and its Royal Orders of Chivalry. 

Congratulations,  to each of the Postulants and much success on your Journey in Chivalry, I assure you, your life will never be the same. 

We are looking forward to seeing all who had the opportunity to make their reservation, as space is limited, at this Royal Gala.  Tuxedo, gala uniform, or tails for gentlemen, and formal evening gown or gala uniform for Ladies is required.  Knights, Dames and Nobles, don't forget your Capes and official Royal Order Jewels, but do not bring your sword, scepter, or any type of crown.

Unlike previous events, this event in Las Vegas, NV is historic.  While the Officers of the Royal Order were required to pare down significantly from the February 23, 2020 gathering in Honolulu, Hawaii,  required to make commonsense decisions as The Royal Order navigates carefully within the boundaries of global pandemic issues and healthcare guidelines, they are are inspired by the opportunities that have evolved and never been greater for the Sovereign Constantinian Order of Cappadocia, shortened by official proclamation "Principality of Cappadocia" and its three Orders of Chivalry as you will learn.

Feast Day of Saint Helen 2021

     Greetings to all Nobles, Knights, Dames and Members of the Monarchical Chapters of the Royal Order of Constantine the Great and Saint Helen. 

     His Grace, Duke Michael, our Royal Order’s Deputy Grand Master to His Royal Highness, Prince Rafael Andujar y Vilches, Prince Grand Master, and I wish you and your families good health and happiness after this last year and a half of many difficulties and loss of life due to the worldwide pandemic.  It is our honor to serve His Royal Highness and each of you in this very worthwhile organization.

As many of you are aware, each year our Royal Order commemorates the official Feast Day of Saint Helen, the Blessed Mother of Constantine the Great.  The official day is August 18th, however, we are inviting you to set aside a few moments anytime during the month of August to reflect on the accomplishments of this amazing woman.  She converted to Christianity shortly after her son, Constantine, became Roman Emperor.  Due to her newfound faith, she used her position to care for the poor, liberate prisoners and, of vital importance, provided inspiration to her son, to allow Christians to worship freely. 

     Her conversion to Christianity brought her strong faith, and in the year 326, she began a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.  There she ordered the construction of the Basilicas of the Nativity in Bethlehem, and of the Ascension on the Mount of Olives. She encouraged her son to build a Basilica over the sites where Jesus had died and risen from the dead.  After clearing away the pagan edifices that had been built on the site, the workers began construction of the Basilica. The work was overseen by Empress Helen, who hoped to discover the relics of Christ’s Passion.  Her faith was rewarded when the True Cross was discovered.  The identity of the Cross was confirmed when a deceased man was laid upon the wood and miraculously restored to life.  The three nails from the Crucifixion were presented by Empress Helen to Constantine. One was cast into the Iron Crown, as a reminder that there is no rule which should not be subject to God; the Crown currently rests in the Cathedral of Monza, in Italy. The other precious relics of the Crucifixion are today preserved in the Roman Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem.  Her seemingly impossible efforts and achievements resulted in The Holy See proclaiming Empress Helen, as Saint of the Roman Catholic Church sometime after her death.

     In years past, we have encouraged the Ladies of Saint Helen to host a luncheon or a tea where they could discuss the great efforts of Saint Helen and to introduce potential candidates to the Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen.  Sadly, with the health threat of COVID 19, our leaders have determined that it would be in the best interests of our Nobles, officers, Ladies, Knights and Members of the Monarchical Chapters not to physically gather, but rather to take some quiet time with family to ponder the great achievements of Saint Helen.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR 2021/22

2. August 18, 2021 - Feast of Saint Helen. To be celebrated at every Grand Priory as a fundraising opportunity in the spirit of Saint Helen. This very special event is usually coordinated by our Ladies.  Ideas are invited. We understand the Grand Priory of Hawaii will have an "Afternoon High-Tea Party" fundraising event at one of the finest hotels in Hawaii.  
3. September/Octobert Investiture Ceremonies Preparation.  Dates and places will be announced. Members of the Monarchical Chapter, who desire to advance to Knight- or Damehood, may prepare a Petition together with their Mentor  which must be a Knight or Dame of the Royal Order. When approved an Investiture Ceremony and Gala will scheduled and held within the jurisdiction of the respective Grand Priory. While H.R.H. Prince Rafael, Prince Grand Master plans to attend such events, he may appoint by Royal Decree a "Personal Representative" who will perform the knighting ceremony to meet strict legal "Fons Honorum" requirements. Grand Priories located in the United States must coordinate their Investiture Ceremonies with H.E. Sir John Shin, Grand Prior of the United States. 
4. On or about October 28, 2021 - Celebration of the Battle at Milvian Bridge, with the Advancement of Knights, Dames and Nobles. The place and venue and exact day will be announced soon. It will be attended by H.R.H. Prince Rafael who will officiate among other promotions a very special ceremony consisting of the elevation of a Knight and a Lady to one of the highest ranks of nobility, that of a Count and Countess. Ceremonies such as these are very rarely seen in ones life-time.  Attendance is limited. Please RSVP soonest.
5. November 12-15, 2021 Grand Priory of Japan.  Annual Meeting and Knighthood Investiture Gala. This is event currently planned. Details will be announced after the next Royal Order's Virtual Leadership Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, September 4, 2021.
6. February 22 -26,2022 -  Annual General Meeting. (Place to be announced.) This is event currently planned to be attended by Representatives of all Grand Priories, Details will be announced after the next Royal Order's Leadership Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2021.  The Annual General Meeting will include the regular business agenda, including the approval of granting charters for new Grand Priories.  The highlight will be the 2022 Royal House of Cappadocia Prize Awards Gala - presented to eight Nominees, one per Recognition Category. Nominees will be notified.
7. August 2022 - Charter Ceremony and 1st Meeting of the Grand Priory of Greece. Lady Maria DiGiovanni, Dame Commander and Ambassador of the Royal Order to Greece, plans to coordinate this visitation with the Vision of establishing the Grand Priory of Greece, and a Royal Home for Women & Children in need on behalf of the Royal Order.  Among the requirements to approve a new Grand Priory, a Petition must be presented by twelve (12) Members of the Monarchical Chapter sixty (60) days prior to the Annual General Meeting. After conclusion of this Visitation, members and guest may participate at an Optional Tour to Istanbul, and Cappadocia, Turkey. Should you be interested to attend, please let us know.

We wish to extend our warmest welcome Mr. MICHAEL CHAO, our newest Member/Benefactor of The Monarchical Chapter of The Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen.

Michael, born in Taiwan, is hearing impaired (deaf), and a well-known Military Aerial Photographer of Alhambra, California, United States.  Michael started to learn photography about 15 years ago. Although his learning speed is slower than others due to his deafness, he loves aerial photography even though he can't hear the aircraft engines. It is a majestic rumble, and when the plane soars in the sky, his heart will follow the plane to fly in the sky. He encourages all disabled friends to stand up bravely, pursue their dreams, and strive to do what is impossible.

During childhood at the age of 3, he had a high fever, improper medication, and a special-effect anti-fever injection, which caused the acquired hearing loss. He finished elementary school in Taiwan and entered a junior high school for the hearing impaired. Because of his slow learning progress and bad temper due to deafness and struggling to deal with his disability, resulting in poor academic performance. During that time, Michael encountered a bottleneck in his studies in Taiwan and suffered a lot from hearing impairment. 

Later, his whole family of four immigrated to the United States, where Michael entered hearing impaired class to study the English language, mathematics, and took other courses, including American Sign Language. He had to learn everything from scratch, which was very tiring and miserable. After graduation, he entered American society to work. Fifteen years ago, he picked up the courage to study photography in his spare time at work. Because he couldn't hear the instructor's lecture, his father would accompany him all the way to the photography class and help him take notes.

Michael said that he likes to use the lens to capture the spectacular flights of military aircraft. The uniform and heroic posture of military aircrafts make him very happy. He sees himself flying higher and higher, just like an airplane rushing into the blue sky. In order to be able to photograph military aircraft, he often participates in aviation exhibitions all over the United States. Even without the sophisticated professional equipment of aviation photographers, he still strives to capture the unpredictable moments of military aircraft with his lens.

He said that his favorites to photograph are the US Air Force "Thunderbirds" aerobatic team and the US Navy's "Blue Angels" aerobatic team. His dream is to photograph military aircraft from different countries that all have different heroic appearances. He said that no matter how others judge or look down on him and others with disabilities, he will work hard to move forward. He encourages Taiwan's hearing impaired and disabled friends to stand up bravely and work towards their goals instead of doing nothing. Recently, he also began to learn how to dive. In the future, he plans to add underwater photography to his expertise.  Whether it is photography of airplanes in the blue sky, and beautiful under-water photography he thanks God for his grace, which enriched his life and gave him a happy heart. We are very proud that Michael decided to join the exclusive membership of the Monarchical Chapter.  We had the opportunity to meet Michael during one of the Investiture Events and he looked as sharp in his Tuxedo as in his flight uniform.

Becoming a "Member Benefactor of the Monarchical Chapter" is a requisite step in attaining knight-, damehood and voting membership in The Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen, one of the three Orders of Chivalry of the Sovereign & Royal House of Cappadocia and San Bartolomeo.

Dear Nobles, Dames, Knights, Benefactors of the Monarchical Chapter, Ladies-in-Waiting, and Squires,

I am writing you today on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Rafael our Prince Grand Master, and the senior leadership of The Royal House of Cappadocia and San Bartolomeo, and in particular, our Royal Order as noted above.

We all realize, our world – as we knew it – has been turned upside down for almost two years!  Hopefully, we are nearing the end of this horrific period.

While I have spoken with a number of our members on the telephone or via email during this period, obviously I have been unable to connect with each of you.  I apologize. 

To prevent that from occurring again, please update your records on this website, or we would greatly appreciate it if you would – on receipt – simply respond to this email with your full name, mailing address, and telephone number.  Your email address will automatically appear on your message. We will update your record with that information and make sure that you are advised of changes in our structure as well as receive invitations to upcoming Royal Order events and initiatives around the world.  

The last event that we, as a Royal Order had, was our 2020 Annual General Meeting and the Investiture of Knights and Dames and was held late last February 2020 in Honolulu, Hawaii. 

A number of us attended and participated in the exciting several-day program coordinated by Duke and Duchess Consort Gerhart and Dr. Nancy Walch.  H.R.H. Prince Rafael traveled from Spain. H.G. Duke Michael and Duchess Consort Linda traveled from Florida, H.E. Sir Laurent Khayat, Grand Prior, Lady Chloe, DC, Vice Grand Prior of Japan, and Sir John and Lady Shin from California and many more arrived to participate at the Annual General Meeting of the Royal Order, the Investiture of Knights and Dames, and of course to enjoy the 2020 Royal Ball held on February 27, 2020, just in the nick of time before the COVID pandemic hit Hawai'i's shores like a Tsunami. 

The delegation of the Royal House of Cappadocia was met by members of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, acting as Honor Guard. 

H.E. Sir Gregory Pentecost, KGC, Grand Prior of Hawaii, served as the Grand Chancellor during the Investiture ceremonies, assisted by Members of the Royal Order of King Kamehameha I  performing a beautiful Hawaiian Prayer,  held at the Basilica of Saint Andrews with its rich Royal history.

H.R.H. Prince Rafael was greeted by the Leader of the Basilica, Rev. Dr. Randolph and Duchess Dr. Nancy Atmospera-Walch.

Duchess Dr. Nancy chaired the Royal Ball 2020, held on February 27, 2020 at the Hilton Hawaiian Resort in Waikiki, assisted by her many angels in the Healthcare community. About 250 guests filled every available seat,  including leaders from the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, the State of Hawaii, the Most Eminent Grand Master and General Grand Officers of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar and numerous other Dignitaries.

Monsignor Thaddeus Farinas Mercado who served on the personal staff of Benedict XVI before and after he became the Pope, presented a memorable invocation and blessed the auspicious occasion. It is noteworthy to mention, he hailed from Vigan, Philippines, where Duchess Dr. Nancy was born. Our dual Masters of Ceremonies assured that the event met and exceeded all expectations.

All guest were greeted by a Knight in shining armor at the beautiful soothing sounds of of Harp Music.

During the 2020 Royal Ball, Proclamations from the State of Hawaii House of Representatives were presented to the Royal House, the Royal Order and the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, honoring the Humanitarian efforts of these ancient organizations and its impact in Hawaii and around the world. These Proclamations were presented by Hon. John Mizuno, Chair of the Department of Health and Human Services Committee of the House of Representatives of the State of Hawaii

Celebrity performers included International Song Artist. Kristian Lei who played the lead role of Kim in the Cameron Mackintosh Production of Miss Saigon in Stuttgart, Germany and Hong Kong, at the age of 19, and numerous other talents including Int'l. Recording Artist Angeli Callo. 

Other surprise guests, none were pre-announced, included International Ballroom Dance Champions Lucas Jaime and Yanna Samkova and members of the well-known Hawaii Dance Sport Center, Government and Business leaders and of course many, many healthcare professionals. One comment Duke Gerhart made was: "This is the safest place in town tonight!" How true it became.

To everyone's surprise, Duke Gerhart of Styria of Cappadocia, Secretary of State & Minister of the Interior of the Royal House of Cappadocia and its Chivalric Orders, with his beautiful dance partner Yanna Samkova opened the Royal Ball 2020 with a graceful and truly regal Waltz.

Followed by a breath-taking beautiful classical dance performance of Yanna with her husband Lucas.

We wish to congratulate the Grand Priory of Hawaii and its Grand Officers for preparing this wonderful event and thereby creating awareness for our Charity. the "Royal Homes for Women & Children" in need. All Homes will be under the protection of the Royal House and its three Orders of Chivalry, symbolized by an ancient Shield.  A shield with the engraved names of the major Sponsors and Benefactors will be placed at the entrance of each Royal Home for Women & Children.  Our efforts and their generosity will allow us to implement these Beacons of Hope for those who are abused, neglected, or can't help themselves as our sole Charity, and serve as the main purpose wherever a Grand Priory operates.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the Royal Decrees of Knight- and Damehood with the engraved Swords.

And in accordance to Royal Protocol, H.R.H. Prince Rafael shared wisdom and comments "the last words" prior to closing the formal part, and open the Ball Room for a dance party lasting past midnight.

However this did not end the 1-week General Grand Meeting program, which also included a private, guided tour of the Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace in the United States and the USS Arizona Memorial were just some of the special events.

On February 27, 2021, Duke Gerhart, Secretary of State, and as Personal Representatives of Prince Rafael, assisted by Duchess Dr. Nancy, officiated the formal investiture of our decade-long Sir Gregory Pentecost's promotion to Knight Grand Cross (KCR), and subsequently installed the Grand Officers of the reconstituted Grand Priory of Hawaii, Inc., with H.E. Sir Gregory Pentecost to the highest station, that of Grand Prior. He was presented with the appropriate Grand Cross, the Royal House's Signet Ring for Grand Priors, and the traditional Royal Order Cape with gold trimming. A Royal Decree issued by the Royal House signed and sealed by H.R.H. Prince Rafael was read and presented to him that attested to his promotion, his election, and his new important assignment and station.

On April 29, 2021, Duchess Consort Linda, the International Grand Dame of our Royal Order, and I were appointed to represent Prince Rafael and officiated at the formal Investiture of our decade-long Knight Bishop Sir Thomas Mount’s promotion to Knight Grand Cross and appointment as General Grand Prelate of our Royal Order.  A Royal Decree issued by the Royal House signed and sealed by H.R.H. Prince Rafael was read and presented to him that attested to his promotion and his new important assignment and station. Although we certainly need funds for our primary dedicated project the “Royal Homes for Women & Children” (see details on our website), as we have had no Investitures, Banquets, Receptions, Galas, or even official meetings since the beginning of the pandemic, we have discussed reducing the Membership Dues for this past year.  We so very much appreciate your continuing interest in our Royal Order and leave this decision at your discretion and ability.  All Annual Dues, unless noted otherwise for Royal Order Year beginning July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, become due on June 30, 2021. By the statement “no meetings”, does not mean that special committees have not been working diligently on our organizational structure, the Initiatives described on the Royal House's website:  https://www.principalityofcappadocia.org/Initiatives/ include planning our future events, reconstituting existing and constituting new Grand Priories, primary charitable focus, web presence, social platforms, uniforms, rank advancement (Knight/Dame, promotion to Knight or Dame Commander, Knight/Dame Grand Cross, Knight/Dame Grand Collar) opportunities for advancement to Noble Titles through the contribution of Time, Talent and/or Treasure to the Royal Household/Royal Order and much more. 

We developed a new membership category – that of the Monarchical Chapter “Member/Benefactor”. This “basic step into our Order of Chivalry” has already started to bring in men and women interested in becoming Dames and Knights with us!  To be a Member/Benefactor is now a requisite step in attaining knight-, damehood and voting membership in The Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen.

Only Knights, Dames, or Nobles of The Royal Order can present through the Grand Prior of their jurisdiction a nomination for knight-, or dame-hood to the Royal House of Cappadocia for consideration, which may or may not been granted. When granted, the Grand Priory will invite the Nominee to the next Investiture Event.

While our Committees already have regular "Virtual/Zoom Meetings, we plan to expand these “virtual” quarterly meetings so that each Knight, Dame, or Member will have the opportunity to participate in decisions for our Royal Order. 

Please utilize the improved website: https://myroyalorder.org/   Registration is easy and you will then have access to many features and update news of importance to Knights, Dames, and Members of our Royal Order.  We are also planning a section devoted to high-quality Order-related merchandise for Dames and Knights.

I can only imagine how busy each of you is.  We hope that you will be interested in participating in the leadership of our “Knightly Renaissance.” We need your skills and a small amount of your time.  By participating, you will not only learn more about the Order, meet and work with other Knights and Dames from your local area, and contribute your visions of the ancient art of chivalry to the benefit of society.

Becoming a "Member Benefactor of the Monarchical Chapter" is a requisite step in attaining knight-, damehood and voting membership in The Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen.  Please help us to welcome our newest Members of the Monarchical Chapter of The Royal Order of Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen, Phil Johnson is the Founder and CEO of "Hope for U.S. Veterans." 

Together, with his beautiful wife Yvette Johnson as a team, they have been working as essential responders meeting the needs of people quarantine, they have built relationships with numerous organizations such as Disney Veterans Institute, Universal Studios, Miratek, Dell, Ikano Communications, TW Telecom, approximately 150 employers alongside the U.S. Department of Labor, and offer paid internships to Graduates of their training programs.  Such as CCNA, CompTIA, HVAC, Building Maintenance, Culinary Arts. They offer 504 plans to all attending Veterans to provide them with a Win experience.  In addition, they also created partnerships with organizations like Home2Suites, and Orlando Disney Hotels for those there to work their internship programs to provide housing to Visiting Veterans attending classes.  And during the past 12 months, they have been working side-by-side as essential responders, meeting the needs of people who are at risk quarantined in their homes.

Phil and Yvette have partnered with additional organizations such as Federal Corrections, Army Wounded Warriors, Texas Veterans Commission, and others to help provide the training needed. 

 They have partnered with and extended their team to areas like the White House, Department of Education, Colonel Morales former Liaison to the Office of the First Lady, Command Sergeant Major Schneider, with Senator Ted Cruz, and the TWE program ran by Charles Miles (DV and Purple Heart Recipient), U.S. Army Retired Department of Veterans Affairs. For their humanitarian services, they have been honored with Congressional Letters of Recognition from Congressman Olsen, of Support for Congress Woman Sheila Jackson Lee, received Certificates of Achievement from the MOAA, U.S. Department of Army, United States Department Federal Corrections.  Phil Johnson humbly said: "As a Cold War Air Force Veteran, it is my pleasure to continue to serve our brothers and sisters as a member of the Military Veterans Peer Network with the Department of Health and Human Services and hopefully soon be a part of the Veterans Court."   Phil and Yvette have been married for 35 years, have 6 children (4 living), 8 grandchildren, all girls.
