Mission Statement

The Royal Order exists to perpetuate and expand the knightly virtues that have guided noble traditions for centuries. We strive to instill in our members the highest standards of honor, integrity, and service, ensuring that the timeless code of chivalry continues to inspire future generations.

We are committed to encouraging intellectual rigor, cultivating minds that question, explore, and refine knowledge in the pursuit of truth. By recognizing exemplary conduct and achievement, we honor those whose lives reflect courage, compassion, and dedication to the betterment of society.

Our purpose extends beyond recognition; it is to enhance the fabric of society itself. Through leadership that nurtures, develops, and inspires, we strive to raise up the innovators, thinkers, and visionaries of tomorrow—men and women who will shape the world with wisdom and courage.

At the Core of Our Mission Lie the Eternal Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity:

Faith: Faith in the enduring ideals of chivalry and noble service.

Hope: Hope in the strength, courage, and potential of our members—Knights, Dames, and Nobles—who dedicate their lives to this calling.

Charity: Charity, the heart of our Order, is expressed through acts of generosity, compassion, and service to those most in need.

“Thus, the Royal Order is not merely an institution of tradition, but a living force for good, anchored in history and dynamically engaged in building a more just, compassionate, and inspired future.”

  • Public Integrity: Unlawful activity or public impropriety.
  • Fidelity to the Order: Defamation of the Order’s name, mission, or leadership.

Membership in the Royal Order is both a high distinction and a solemn responsibility. All members are charged with preserving the sacred reputation, noble traditions, and sovereign dignity of the organization at all times.
10

Decorum, Protocol, and Respect

All members are expected to maintain the highest standards of mutual respect, kindness, and compassion toward one another, whether in person or in correspondence. Critical or disparaging remarks about absent individuals are strictly discouraged.

Such comments, when directed to anyone other than the individual concerned, serve only to create rancor and discord, which are to be avoided at all costs. This behavior is contrary to the chivalrous virtues and the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood that the Royal Order seeks to foster.

Members are encouraged to resolve differences directly, with courtesy and understanding, in a manner befitting the noble traditions and values of the Order.

This sacred fellowship is not merely ceremonial—it is a living, breathing legacy. All Knights and Dames are entrusted with protecting and elevating the Royal Order of Constantine the Great and Saint Helen for future generations.

Investiture Rituals, Heraldic Symbolism & Spiritual Life

The Vigil of Arms & Sacred Accolade

Sacred Accolade of a Dame in the Cathedral
Sacred Sword Accolade of a Knight Before the Altar

On the eve of an Investiture Conclave, Postulants gather for the solemn Vigil of Arms—a candlelit service of self-examination, prayer, and blessing of the swords, mantles, and insignia.

On the following day, kneeling before the Sovereign Prince or Grand Master, the Postulant receives the Sacred Accolade with the ceremonial sword on both shoulders and the crown of the head, is vested with the velvet mantle and neck jewel, and is inscribed in the Golden Book of Nobility.

Every sword, mantle, and collar jewel is consecrated by the Grand Prelate prior to bestowal upon the newly created Knight or Dame.

Biblical & Heraldic Symbolism

The Crowned Cross of the Royal Order
Coat of Arms of the Royal Order

Every element of the Order’s insignia carries centuries of sacred theology, Constantinian lineage, and imperial Byzantine heraldry:

  • The Chi-Rho Monogram (☧) & I H S V: The first two Greek letters of Christos (Χριστός) flanked by Alpha (Α) and Omega (Ω) and the motto In Hoc Signo Vinces (“In this sign, you shall conquer”).
  • The Fleury Cross & Lion of Cappadocia: Four crimson arms terminating in lilies, surmounted by the Sovereign Crown and bearing the winged Lion of Cappadocia.
  • Imperial Crimson, Purple & Gold: Crimson recalls sacrificial charity; Imperial Purple denotes Byzantine sovereignty; Gold signifies divine wisdom and virtue.
Official crests, coats of arms, and robes are reserved strictly for invested members and authorized Chancellery publications.
Spiritual Foundation & Prelature

Faith at the Center & The Role of Chaplains

Prayer and spiritual reflection are woven into every gathering of the Royal Order. Under the guidance of our Grand Prelate General and Priory Chaplains, every Conclave begins in thanksgiving, every sword and mantle is consecrated in prayer, and ecumenical Christian fellowship unites members across denominations.

“Joining the Order has deepened my faith and given me a community of brothers and sisters who truly live out Christian charity.”
— Sir Michael R., Knight of the Order
“The traditions remind us that we are part of something much larger than ourselves—a legacy of service that spans centuries.”
— Dame Elizabeth T., Dame Commander
Official Hymn of the Sovereign House

“Under the Cross” — Anthem of the Principality

Composed and performed for the Sovereign and Royal House of Cappadocia by multi-Grammy Award Winner Sir Bishop Billy L. Dorsey Jr. (Royal House: A Journey Through Time, p. 71), the official anthem is sung at the opening processional and recessional of every solemn Investiture and Royal Gala.

“Under the Cross we stand as one, where ancient faith and honor run;
From Cappadocia’s sacred stone, a light of mercy rounds the throne.
In this sign we conquer still—by love, by truth, by Heaven’s will.”
